contributions to crop science and food security reshaped the nation’s agricultural landscape. A distinguished academic, his educational journey began with a B.Sc. from Khalsa College, Amritsar (1949) and M.Sc. from Panjab University (1951). In pursuit of advanced research, he earned a Ph.D. in Plant Genetics from the University of California (1966) and later served as the Vice-Chancellor of Punjab Agricultural University, inspiring generations of scholars and farmers alike.
Guided by the teachings of Sant Teja Singh Ji and working closely with Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji, Dr. Gill embraced spirituality as a foundation for service. Their shared vision materialized in the establishment of 129+ Akal Academies across rural India, bringing holistic education to underserved communities.
His enduring legacy is preserved at Baru Sahib, where the Dr. Khem Singh Gill Akal College of Agriculture (DKSGACA) at Eternal University carries forward his mission through research and learning that blend science with ethics.
