Glimpses - Earth Day celebration

Students of the PYP (Grades 1–5) at Akal Academy celebrated Earth Day, embracing the spirit of sustainability and environmental responsibility. The celebration, organized by the Go Green Club, focused on important themes such as recycling, responsible use of resources such as water and electricity, and the importance of tree plantation in addressing climate change and deforestation.

A strong emphasis was placed on reducing plastic usage, with students advocating for eco-friendly and biodegradable alternatives in their daily lives. The concept of the 3Rs, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle, was reinforced as a guiding principle for sustainable living.

The programme concluded with a collective pledge by students, faculty, and staff, reaffirming their commitment to environmental stewardship. The initiative served as a meaningful step towards nurturing responsible global citizens who are conscious of their role in creating a sustainable future.

Following the programme, students participated in planting saplings, taking a step towards a greener, more sustainable environment.
